• Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad located just 45 miles east of Pagosa Springs in Chama, NM.  Enjoy a train ride through history.  (View website)
   
• Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad and Musuem is located in Durango, just 60 miles west of Pagosa.  This historic train has been in continuous operation for 127 years, carrying passengers behind vintage steam locomotives and rolling stock indigenous to the line. (View website) 

• Mesa Verde National Park offers a spectacular look into the lives of the Ancestral Pueblo people who made it their home for over 700 years, from A.D. 600 to A.D. 1300. With over 4000 archeological sites, Mesa Verde is a wonderful culteral site and is located a beautiful 2-hour drive away.  (View website)
   
• San Juan Historical Museum will teach you how the pioneers lived in the Pagosa Springs area from the 1890s to the early 1900s. (View website)
