Geology Hike @ San Juan River Walk
The world's deepest geothermal hot spring is the Mother Spring aquifer located in Pagosa Springs, Colorado, USA. It is certified by the Guinness World Records, with a measured depth exceeding 1002 ft (305 meters), though it's true, absolute bottom remains unknown. When did it form and why is it there? Your guide will explain it's volcanic origin stemming for the largest ever volcanic eruption by volume in North America which created the San Juan Mountains. 9am-12pm. Registration required.

Main Street Art Walk @ Downtown Pagosa Springs
Main Street Art Walk pairs artists with downtown businesses to create a walkable, pop-up gallery experience designed to increase foot traffic and in-store shopping. On two Friday evenings, June 26th and July 24th, visitors will stroll downtown, discover local artists inside shops, browse, shop, and dine. 4-7pm.

The Art of Nature - Patterns In Our World, Nature and Journaling @ Reservoir Hill
Unplug, connect and discover the hidden geometry and patterns found throughout nature with the SJMA and Colorado State University (CSU)'s Archuleta County Extension. During this guided hike participants will observe how nature unfolds in beautiful and artistic patterns all around us and have the opportunity to practice nature journaling along the way. We will supply all the necessary materials for journaling. 9am-12pm. Registration required.

Geology: Continental Divide Trail Hike, Wolf Creek Pass @ Lobo Overlook CDT trailhead
SJMA in conjunction with the US Forest Service, Pagosa and Bayfield Ranger Districts, is hosting educational geology hikes, free for the public, from May through October. 9am-2pm. Hike a short section of the famed Continental Divide Trail from the Lobo Overlook to picturesque Rock Lake. Learn about the origin of the San Juan Mountains, created by the largest volcanic eruption by volume ever in North America. Registration required.

Geology Hike: Marine Fossils at 8000 ft? @ Coyote Hill Loop Trail
SJMA in conjunction with the US Forest Service, Pagosa and Bayfield Ranger Districts, is hosting educational geology hikes, free for the public, from May through October. Walk through Ponderous Pine meadows to a beautiful overlook of Pagosa Peak. During this hike, we'll go off trail and climb to some ridge-forming limestone outcrops in the Mancos formation that contain marine fossils and numerous calcite crystals. 9am-1pm. Registration required.

Geology Hike: Aspens & South San Juans, V Rock @ Buckles Lake Trailhead
SJMA in conjunction with the US Forest Service, Pagosa and Bayfield Ranger Districts, is hosting educational geology hikes, free for the public, from May through October. This time we will be climbing through endless stands of golden aspens to an amazing series of overlooks at the top of the V Rock trail. Along the way, the guide will describe how the San Jan Mountains were created and how this southern part of the range differs from main body of the San Juans. 9am-1:30pm. Registration required.

Join us December 19th for the 6th Annual Old-Fashioned Christmas Celebration in Downtown Pagosa Springs! Stroll along the route to enjoy festive displays and activities, acoustic musicians, choirs, live music, free hot chocolate and cider, other goodies and, of course, Santa Claus. 5-7pm.
